Imagery & Data WorldView-2
DigitalGlobe’s WorldView-2 satellite, launched in October
2009, incorporates the
industry standard four multispectral bands (red,
blue, green and near-infrared) and also
four new bands (coastal, yellow, red
edge, and near-infrared 2). This added spectral diversity provides
the ability to perform precise change detection
Operating at an altitude of 770 kilometers, WorldView-2 provides 50 cm panchromatic resolution and 2. meter multispectral resolution imagery to the commercial marketplace. It has an average revisit time of 1.1 days and adds to the DigitalGlobe constellation that is now capable of collecting over 500 million square kilometers per year, more than tripling the DigitalGlobe multispectral collection capacity for more rapid and reliable collection. WorldView-2 provides the ability to perform precise change detection, mapping and analysis at unprecedented resolutions in 8-band multispectral imagery
The WorldView-2 system, offering unsurpassed accuracy, agility, capacity and spectral
diversity, allows DigitalGlobe to substantially expand its imagery product offerings to both commercial and international customers.
