Continental Divide - Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado

This month's featured image is an Intermap digital terrain models (DTM), overlaid with Landsat 7 pan-sharpened Global Imagery Mosaic data. This DTM shows Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado, USA. Elevation in the park ranges from 8,000 feet (2438 m) to the 14,259-ft (4346-m) summit of Long's Peak. The park is split by the Continental Divide, a natural barrier separating the watersheds of the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. The park is traversed by Trail Ridge Road, which reaches an elevation of 12,183 feet (3,713 m) to make it the highest continuous highway in the United States.
